FACULTY
KERI KAO Piano, Voice, Woodwinds, Groups
Keri is a graduate of the MUN School of Music and holds 4 degrees, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education and a Masters of Education. She also holds several certificates from the Royal Conservatory of Music and is a certified Music for Young Children teacher. She has over 25 years teaching experience and currently teaches piano, voice, flute, saxophone, clarinet, many of the Musically Inclined group classes and directs the Musically Inclined Ladies Choir, Avalon Voices as well as the Musical Theatre groups. She has been the organist and choir director of several church choirs at both St. Edwards and Mary Queen of the World parishes. Keri recently also began working part-time as a substitute with the NLESD for both music and classroom, grades K-12.
Keri is the founder and co-owner of Musically Inclined.

ANDY KAO Violin, Fiddle
Andy graduated from the MUN School of Music with Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education degrees. He also holds several Suzuki violin teaching certificates from Ithaca University. In 1996, after some teaching in the school system, Andy decided to teach privately full-time and he has been teaching violin and fiddle for over 25 years while also performing actively as a soloist and ensemble member. Currently a violinist with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, Andy was also the past Personnel Manager and Stage Manager of the N.S.O. as well as the Assistant Principal Second Violin. Andy is the co-owner of Musically Inclined. |
BOB WISEMAN Guitar, Bass Guitar, Mandolin, Accordion
Bob has been an instructor at Musically Inclined since 1996 and has over 25 years teaching experience and holds a theory certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Bob is the former bass guitarist for The Masterless Men and is still active as a solo performer available for private functions, parties, dances and receptions. Bob also offers specialized lessons to teach you how to tune your guitar by ear or to help you transcribe a song from a recording or original song to tab or music notation. Specializing in Classic Rock and Country, Bob can teach any style from Classical to Heavy Metal. |
ALYSSA MCGRATH Piano
At the age of 22, Alyssa is already quite an experienced teacher and
performer. Alyssa is currently beginning her 7th year as a piano
instructor at Musically Inclined. She has been playing the piano since
the age of 4 and she holds 3 theory certificates from the Royal
Conservatory of Music including advanced rudiments, as well as playing
at a Grade 10 level. In addition to playing piano, Alyssa has also
studied voice for many years and is currently
a member of 2 choirs. She has won countless awards at the Kiwanis Music
Festival over the years, and now enters some of her own students in the
festival. She has also spent the past several years assisting with our
group classes and our summer camps. Alyssa loves working with children
and has spent the past two summers working full time at Max and the Town
of Paradise Summer Camps. She is currently entering her fifth year of
studies at Memorial University where she is working towards her
Primary/Elementary Education degree as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree
with a music minor. |

KRYSTA SLADE Voice, Piano
Krysta studied at the MUN School of Music as a voice major and has been active as both a teacher and performer for over 20 years. Krysta has been at Musically Inclined for over 15 years motivating talent and musicality in children and adults of all ages. Krysta conducts 2 of our choirs, Musica della Mare, which is our advanced teen chamber choir as well as Stella Alpina, our girls choir. Her musical theatre credits include Les Miserable, Miss Saigon, The King and I, The Secret Garden (lead), Guys and Dolls (lead), and The Phantom of the Opera (lead). Her operatic credits include The Mikado (Gilbert & Sullivan), The Impressario (lead - Menotti), and The Old Maid and The Thief (lead - Menotti). Krysta toured the province as a "triple treat" for "Newfoundland" the musical and performed the lead role in Menotti's opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors" with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra. She has participated in the Kiwanis Music Festival for 15 years and has won numerous awards. She is a past Senior Rose Bowl runner-up and has competed at the provincial level. Krysta also has had the privilege of conducting a "boys choir"on behalf of the Kiwanis Music Festival Association. |
DANIELLE ROSE Voice, Piano
Danielle is a voice and piano instructor with over 6 years teaching experience. She spent almost a decade training in different vocal styles such as Pop, Newfoundland, Irish, Musical Theatre and Gospel. She has also studied piano for many years and now teaches with a strong focus on beginner levels as well as music theory. Over the years, Danielle has won numerous awards at the Kiwanis Music Festival in Folk and Gospel classes. She firmly believes that music is a fun, enriching and rewarding experience in which she strives to provide in every lesson. Danielle takes great pride in her teaching and is constantly studying and researching to be the best teacher she can be. Danielle is a certified Royal Conservatory of Music teacher.

PAUL HAMILTON Accordion
Paul started playing the accordion at the age of five, and is currently an active teacher and performer. He has made numerous TV appearances over the years, won several accordion competitions, including Bell Island Accordion Idol, a competition he then went on to judge. In September of 2018, Paul had the privilege of accompanying Bud Davidge of Simani on stage at the Holy Heart Theatre for Open Highway & Friends - NL Family Reunion. He also played the accordion on "What Christmas Time is All About" and "The Jig - A Simani Medley" for Bud Davidge's new CD Freedom Gift. This past year has been a very busy one for Paul. He appeared on Musical Memories - Celebrating Legends of NL Music in which he paid tribute to Harry Hibbs, he performed with Bud Davidge at the George Street Festival, Bay De Verde Festival and Bannerman Park Folk Festival and also played with the St. Pat's Dancers at various functions. Paul has been teaching button accordion for the past 10 years at Musically Inclined to children and adults of all ages.

STEVE PARSONS Drums, Percussion, Guitar
Steve began playing guitar at the age of 13 and has been an avid musician and composer ever since. He plays a variety of instruments, including guitar, bass and drums and enjoys playing rock and roll, rhythm and blues and folk among other genres. He has performed with various acts and as a solo artist in St. John's and across the province for the past 15 years. Steve studied the music industry in Stephenville, NL and sound engineering and production in Vancouver, BC. Since 2014, Steve has been working as a music teacher while continuing to develop his sound and song writing style. He now has a catalog of over a hundred original compositions and is regularly learning new material to facilitate his expanding catalog of teaching material. Steve's musical tastes and influences are diverse. He is an exciting live performer and a dedicated artist who is self driven and self produced. Steve is dedicated to the progress of his students and makes every effort to ensure they have fun while they are learning how to play their instrument. He has been teaching guitar, bass and drums at Musically Inclined since 2020.

STEPHEN ASH Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Guitar Groups
Steve has been teaching guitar, bass, ukulele and percussion at
Musically Inclined for over ten years. His private teaching encompasses
concepts such as theory, composition, accompaniment and improvisation.
He has studied the theory and pedagogy of music, and he enjoys playing,
composing, recording and performing a wide variety of styles from folk
and rock to jazz and other improvised genres. He has also composed
original works as well as arranged
scores for small and medium ensembles. Steve is an active performer,
composer and arranger in the Newfoundland music scene. Along with his
private teaching, he also leads several guitar and rock band ensembles
at Musically Inclined who always perform complex arrangements at a very
high standard. He has a large number of students who have been with him
for many years.

ERIKA FARRELL & VERONICA NUGENT After School Staff
Erika and Veronica are both former students of Musically Inclined.
Erika has a certificate in therapeutic recreation and is currently a full time student of Memorial University working towards her education degree. Erika is also a member of our ladies choir Avalon Voices. This will be Erika's second year working with our summer camps and afterschool program.
Veronica has recently returned to her hometown of CBS after 11 years living in New Brunswick. She has recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts as well as a Bachelor of Education.
